Ruby V. Castaneda, Psychotherapist

Life often presents challenges, especially during uncertain times. Ruby firmly believes that each person's unique perspective—shaped by their individual background—plays a significant role in how they navigate these difficulties. She recognizes that understanding and respecting the diversity of each client, along with their specific needs, is essential for creating effective treatment plans.

Ruby's diverse professional experience influences her empathetic and tailored approach to psychotherapy, ensuring that each client feels heard and supported.

Background

Ruby holds a Master’s degree in Psychology from Chapman University and is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California. She has undergone extensive training in several critical areas, including Domestic Violence Prevention, CDC Partner Services, Intensive Grief Support, as well as Clinical Supervision.

With over 13 years of clinical experience, Ruby has worked across diverse settings, including nonprofit organizations, private practice, and public education. This breadth of experience has afforded her the privilege of serving a wide range of demographics, including monolingual Spanish-speaking clients, members of the LGBTQ+ community, women facing postpartum depression, and survivors of domestic violence.

Ruby is dedicated to delivering compassionate and culturally competent care, which allows her to build meaningful connections with clients as they navigate their unique challenges. She is deeply committed to enhancing local mental health initiatives and currently serves on the Board of Directors for both Lumina Alliance and the Council on Adolescent Mental Health. Additionally, Ruby has contributed to the academic community as a guest lecturer for the MFT Program at the University of Massachusetts.
